With the british association for Project Management hoping to get Charter status any time of day soon, will it be worthwhile being a chartered venture professional. At the end of your day this depends if employers place reasonably limited on "professional" project managers. Why should they execute this? Unlike many of your older professions Doctors, Practitioners and Accountants, 聽 chartered status isn't going to be a legal requirements to employ, so will being some sort of Chartered Project Professional make a distinction one project manager by another? And will this value be recognised on the Jobs market?
We just need to look at the PRINCE2 qualification with the answer. 聽 When faced with a collection of applications for a position, those with the finest quality qualification will get to the the top list. Form this trend we can expect Chartered Project specialized to rapidly earn a value that are available place and a ChPP stands out as the next "badge" on complete. But is this real value?
Are we not missing all the point of a work, the value of a professional project manager, is upskill our industries quite appalling track record at delivering successful project around the constraints expected by any sponsors, stakeholder and potential fans and patrons. Will a professional project manager a little more competent, capable and successful than the street (even with a one week PRINCE2 course)? This is a real challenge the APM and those who put themselves in advance to for chartered state. If they can deliver more successful projects for the sponsors, business additionally, the public then the chartered status will have real value in little brown eyes of society.
